Triglycerides

Triglycerides?

What's the difference between cholesterol and triglycerides? What if your cholesterol levels are normal but your triglyceride levels are elevated? Do triglycerides come from the liver like cholesterol, or are they just fat?

  1. Hello =) Triglycerides are an "in-between" product.....between fats and sugars, and are transformed from one to the other within the liver. The large muscles of the skeleton burn triglyceride directly, like biceps, triceps, and leg muscles. That is why they are created. Triglycerides elevate usually due to a "pre-diabetic" condition, in which the liver is trying to regulate blood glucose by converting glucose to triglyceride. Frequently, if people are put on a triglyceride medication, they will find that their blood glucose levels jump. Namaste, --Tom
