Triglycerides

Is cappachino high in Cholesterol and Triglycerides?

I love cappachino and drink it 2-3 times a week from the gas station Quik Trip. I went to the Dr and had my blood drawn and found out my Cholesterol and Triglycerides and LDL is high, and the Dr was wondering about my diet. This is just a question I have, what is the Cholesterol and Triglcerides and LDL in cappachino??

 1. A "real" cappucino is made with strong coffee and 2% milk steamed into foam. The "stuff" at the gas station (out of a dispenser machine, right?), is more likely a powdered drink mix, a la hot chocolate powder and may contain anything from palm sugar and palm oil to rancid beetle thoraxes (kidding), there is no telling. Sadly, it is unlikely that this is the problem. The vast majority of cholesterol and triglyceride problems are hereditary, and, while your diet can have some effect, it's not going to be the cure. Low-density lipoprotein management is easily done with medications these days, but eat healthy anyway! Best wishes!
 2. Researchers noticed significant increases in LDL in the decaf drinkers compared with the caffeinated coffee and no-coffee groups. One study found that coffee is the largest source of antioxidants in our diet – surpassing blueberries, broccoli and most produce. Only chocolate, dried fruits and dried beans were better sources. American, Finnish and Swedish studies all suggest that decaf and regular coffee reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes (because of coffee’s plentiful potassium, niacin, magnesium and chlorogenic acids). Two U.S. studies of nurses show that heavy coffee drinkers are actually at a slightly lower risk of hypertension. A study conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease showed that two cups of coffee a day can dramatically cut the risk of chronic liver disease in those at greatest risk. http://www.clevelandclinic.org/health/health-info/docs/3900/3958.asp?index=12709 //><>// Drinking decaf coffee may increase bad cholesterol by raising a blood fat, according to a study presented on Nov. 16 at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions 2005. Decaffeinated coffee may also increase a protein that is associated with bad cholesterol, raising the heart risk and lowering good cholesterol in those who have a healthy weight, according to the researchers of the study at the Fuqua Heart Center and the Piedmont-Mercer Center for Health and Learning in Atlanta, GA. http://www.foodconsumer.org/cgi-bin/777/exec/view.cgi/6/1992 ''><>'' Lower Your Cholesterol in Coffee Coffee does have low levels of cholesterol but there is a very simple way to significantly eliminate it. Paper coffee filters have been found to eliminate the majority of the cholesterol that is naturally found in the Coffee Beans. The use of any other type of metallic coffee filters found in some drip coffee machines or in a coffee press do nothing to eliminate cholesterol. Use only paper coffee filters and keep your arteries clean! http://www.volcanicacoffee.com/gourmet-coffee-blog/2005/07/lower-your-cholesterol-in-coffee.html ]]><>]] So you decide, you've got the information now.
