where can I find a low cholesterol/low fat diet without joining an on-line diet club?
I have extremely high triglycerides and am being treated with 2 meds (tricor and lopid). I am also diabetic ( treated with glucophage)

- Try DiabeticDietSecrets.com Also two mailing lists on Yahoo groups that have good tips on low carb diets are: Diabetes_International diabetes You can find both of these under yahoo Groups under diabetes in the health category. Good luck!
- Your local library perhaps?
- Take it easy on the meat. Replace meat with fish. Eat veggies. There is no cholesterol in plants, so vegetables would be good for you in that respect, and in many others. Also, cut the carbs so your body will burn the triglycerides first. So take it easy on bread, pasta, and all sweets and sweet things. Eat as many fiber-rich foods as you can. That way the bacteria in your colon will make plenty of butyrate which might speed up the fat burning process even more. If you treat yourself to pasta, meat or carbs, which you should from time to time (you only live once), make sure that you drink water (preferably carbonated) or wine while you eat. Drinking will give you a sense of satiety so you won't eat as much.
