I went to the cardiologist today and lost 22 lbs since January. What is the best way to lower my triglycerides
He told me I need to get my good Cholesterol up and get my bad Cholesterol down and says I should take 2 grams of fish oil every day at least. He also told me to keep losing weight and go for a fasting lipid profile in a month. How do I lower my triglycerides and get my good cholesterol up?

- First of all, good for you for losing the weight! Its not easy. Listen to your doctor's advice. I knew a few patients who ate Oat Bran Muffins 2-3 times a day and it SIGNIFICANTLY lowered their triglycerides as well as the bad LDH cholesterol in a short time. It also raises the HDH (the good one). It was amazingly effective! The oat bran must NOT be the processed kind. You can make these at home, and freeze them and microwave them when you want. Just substitute this oat bran for oatmeal in any muffin recipe. I would suggest using Splenda or Honey instead of sugar in the recipe to keep your weight down. Try it! Good Luck!
