How do you get triglycerides down from 550?
My uncle was on lipitor and is 68. All of a sudden his triglycerides shot up to 550 and he is trying all sorts of cholesterol lowering medicines and it will not go down. Does anyone have any suggestions?

- If he is overweight, losing weight is a good way. Triglycerides are made by the body, not consumed, so basically exercise and eating a low fat, well balanced diet with lots of veggies and fruit, and getting enough but not too much (7-9 hours a night) of sleep is the best way to reduce them. Also, if he doesn't consume about 25 grams of fiber a day he should GRADUALLY induce more fiber and drink plenty of liquids to move the fiber through his system.
- In addition to proper diet and exercise, I suggest OmegaGuard. It can be very effective in lowering triglycerides. It's a pharmaceutical grade omega 3's and due to its triple molecular distillation and purification process concentrates natural beneficial omega 3 fatty acids. It provides a full spectrum of seven natural omega 3 fatty acids -- EPA, DHA, ALA and more. Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
