Triglycerides

How do you get triglycerides down from 550?

My uncle was on lipitor and is 68. All of a sudden his triglycerides shot up to 550 and he is trying all sorts of cholesterol lowering medicines and it will not go down. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. If he is overweight, losing weight is a good way. Triglycerides are made by the body, not consumed, so basically exercise and eating a low fat, well balanced diet with lots of veggies and fruit, and getting enough but not too much (7-9 hours a night) of sleep is the best way to reduce them. Also, if he doesn't consume about 25 grams of fiber a day he should GRADUALLY induce more fiber and drink plenty of liquids to move the fiber through his system.
  2. In addition to proper diet and exercise, I suggest OmegaGuard. It can be very effective in lowering triglycerides. It's a pharmaceutical grade omega 3's and due to its triple molecular distillation and purification process concentrates natural beneficial omega 3 fatty acids. It provides a full spectrum of seven natural omega 3 fatty acids -- EPA, DHA, ALA and more. Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
