  1. I had the same problem and a friend of mine told me about this diet. I thought she was crazy but it worked for me. Check it out www.asiannoodlediet.com
  2. 1 - Give up junk food. 2 - Eat broiled salmon four times a week. 3 - Daily exercises should include > 20 minutes of aerobics It is likely that her tri count will never be low. She (and you) may have genetic tendancy for hi tri levels. How are her HDL levels, are they low? If so, you might want to consider another doctor.
  3. exercise eat healthy (whole grains, fruits , veggies, fish!!!) eliminate junk foods espically ones with alot of carbohydrates and trans fats. (store bought cakes pies etc) i am not saying a low carb diet but watch the simple sugars and absolutely get another doctor for a second opinion and help. maybe ask for a referral to a dietitian for help.
  4. Your Mom could use and oil change. Stop eating sugar, partially hydrogenated oil and hydrogenated oil, trans fats. These oils coat the cell walls with a plaque which inhibits the nutrition from entering into the cell. This results in diabetes, heart disease, obesity cancer, and Alzheimer's. Replace the bad oils with good ones, olive, flax, coconut, borage, fish etc. These are the Omega 3 oils which are so very healthy and prevent serious diseases. Over time, the plaque will be gone and nutrition will the be allowed into the cells. God Bless, Daniel
