  1. Triglycerides are the form all fat takes inside your body. Basically, it's a measure of how much fat is in your blood stream. To lower your triglyceride levels, many studies suggest that you must lower the overall amount of the fat you consume. Paradoxically, eating fish and consuming fish oil seems to lower triglycerides levels. The second component of a program to lower triglycerides is to eat fiber and high fiber foods. Oats and oat bran seem to work especially well. The final part of the recommended strategy is to exercise at least 3 times per week, doing both cardiovascular (walking, running, skipping rope, any sports that make you run continuously such as soccer or basketball or swimming) and weight bearing exercises.
  2. Cut out all foods high in fats and cholesterol. Check the labels on foods before you buy!!! Eat more veggies!! Cut out starchy foods too.
