Triglycerides

triglycerides?

I was just wondering if not totally fasting before blood work could have affected my results. I was told my triglycerides were 249 but my cholesterol was fine. I had a 12oz can of coke about two hours before my test. I have now been about to stave my self to death trying to figure out how to lower the triglyceride level. Someone told me the simple sugars in the soda my have temporarily raised my triglycerides and that i may not have a problem at all. I would love to hear from someone that knows about this sort of thing. Thanks i advance for any help or advice.

  1. i think whoever told you that is right, it should only temporaly raise the level and once the body uses the sugar it should return to normal. It is the main constituent of vegetable oil and animal fats these are found in certain foods(these are the ones that you need to watch the intake of). These are found in foods such as; olive oil, palm oil, soybean oil, canola oil, pumpkin seed oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, argan oil and rice bran oil. Many other kinds of vegetable oilsblubber, cod liver oil, lard pork fat, beef tallow, schmaltz or chicken. Good Luck
  2. Ask your doctor about it, he/she will probably put you on a fat free diet like mine put me on, a devil of a job keeping to it though lol.
