- Cut out the sweets. pronto!!!! Your Dr. should have given you a list of foods to avoid and a diet to go by. Maybe a Nutritionist could really help you. Good Luck!
- Gain tight control of your glucose levels, eating low carb food plan and doing plenty of exercising and the triglycerides levels should come into alignment. If not you can try their medication for lowering cholesterol numbers. I tried their meds but it didn't budge my cholesterol numbers at all, so I quit taking them.
- My triglycerides were off the chart. My doctor put me on a high fiber diet and prescribed cholesterol lowering meds. That was a year ago and now I am at 130.
- Hello my friend, I have found that the low carb diet works best for me. They have discovered that sugar is the bad guy that makes your triglycerides increase. Exercise also works wonders. Doing both together is your best bet, in my opinion. There is a great book called Dr. Bastien's Diabetes Solution. This book has been a life saver for me. Here is his site: http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/ Dr. Bernstein has been a type l diabetic since he was around 9 or 10. He is now over 70 years old and is actively practicing medicine. He found out how to control his blood sugar and became a doctor at the age of around 45. When he was first diagnosed, his life expectancy was less than 40 years of age. Even though he is a type l diabetic, the covers both type l & ll diabetes in his book. He even has a cook book now, with delicious recipes, that are easy to prepare. I hope this helps.
