  1. If coconut oil is a saturated or polyunsaturated fat, it may exacerbate (worsen) the condition.
  2. coconut oil has lot of saturated fat so it will increase your tg. yoga esp pranayam like kapal bhati and alom vilom for about 15 mins each will be useful no red mead and saturated fats medication as advised by your doc
  3. even if there are a lot of claims that virgin coconut oil will work wonders with triglycerides and cholesterol, let us bear in mind that this virgin coconut oil is just a food supplement and not a replacement for the real medicine that helps keep triglycerides and cholesterol level down. please go and see your doctor for proper medical advice.
  4. While I do not know much about coconut oil and the effects on cholesterol may I suggest you start taking Omega Complex It has many many beneficial factors and one being it lowers bad cholesterol and raises the good! Omega Complex 1200 You will be amazed at everything it helps even from day 1!!!!!!!
  5. Extra virgin OLIVE oil will lower your cholesterol
  6. I would use Omega 3 fish oil. Nordic Naturals is the best on the market. Flax seed is a good source of omega 6 Eat more fresh vegetables and Gluco Manen for fiber also.
  7. I've been taking meds for two years they did nothing. I started taking fish oil cholesterol levels improved.
  8. the best and most cost effective way to reduce your cholesterol is to eat a balanced diet instead of taking pills. Exercising (walk for a 1/2 hour a day) Start by increasing your fiber, so fruits & veggies, whole grain breads and pastas. The role of fiber in the diet is vast and it doesn't just keep you regular it bonds to fat (cholesterol) and excretes the excess. Cholesterol is made by your liver so you don't need to eat it. Cut out eggs, steak, just for now until you get your numbers under control. Try to incorporate Tofu into your diet, it's at most $2 and that's cheaper than a piece of steak and if you season it just like you would your steak it rocks (extra firm tofu, put it in paper towel for 3 hours to draw out excess water, marinate and pan fry with sesame oil. IF you use oil, get the extra virgin cold pressed olive and flax oils, they should NOT be heated up you can put them on your salad. They are better than coconut oil because they contain polyunsaturated fat.
