  1. omega 3 cod liver oil it comes in gel capsules can be bought over the counter it's what I was advise to take
  2. Regular exercise and moderate alcohol consumption increase HDL levels...proper nutrition particularly limiting intake of saturated fats that increases triglycerides, limiting intake of salt and increasing dietary fiber by eating more vegetables, fruits, unrefined cereals and wheat bread... although many medicines are availabe now you may better consult your doctor to have a proper meds..
  3. Under 200 is where your cholesterol should be although 235 is very close. Reduce your red meat consumption and eat fish, and fowl instead. Omega 3 supplements, even Cod Liver oil is good as is flax seed products, olive oil and canola oil. Regular exercise is important. This will help to lower your total cholesterol and raise your HDL(high density lipids) but whether it can do enough is up to your doctor. Your doctor will have to prescribe any medicine for cholesterol and there are several.
