  1. I have a high count too. I was told it is affecting my blood sugar and being type 2 diabetic, that is not good. Just went on medication.
  2. High Triglycerides are fat in the blood cells and put you at high risk of stroke or Heart attack. You have to avoid saturated fats and sugar. Avoid sodas, sports drinks anything in the center isles at the grocery store. I have been fighting very high triglycerides for the last 8 years. I lost 35 lbs and started exercising a lot more and stopped overeating and this keeps it in check.
  3. Although the exact mechanism is unclear, high triglycerides may contribute to hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) or thickening of the artery walls — which increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart disease. Sometimes high triglycerides are a sign of poorly controlled diabetes, low levels of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism), liver or kidney disease, or the use of certain medications. High triglycerides can also result from rare genetic conditions. Like cholesterol, triglycerides are obtained from food and manufactured in the "liver".
