- Stay away from alcoholic beverages, simple sugars. Take 5 to 7 fish oil tabs/day and consider taking straight niacin. Start on the niacin slowly as you will certainly flush and at first get GI upsets but it does work great.
- If it looks good, smells good, or tastes good then don't eat it. same thing works for diabetes.
- oatmeal is great
- Pantethine, is an active form of pantothenic acid. Several studies show that 300 mg of Pantethine taken three times per day will lower triglyceride count. Foods like, dried beans, peas, and lentils whole grain breads, cereals and pasta, egg whites, skim and nonfat dry milk, cheese made with skim or part-skim milk, such as mozzarella, Parmesan, farmers', ricotta, or pot cheese. low-fat cottage cheese, low-fat yogurt, fish, poultry without the skin, lean cuts of meat, such as round, sirloin, rump, and flank these Will lower amounts tremendously. Good luck. EF, MD
